Punk Panther Nidderdale Way
Punk Panther Nidderdale Way is a trail running event on the Nidderdale Way in North Yorkshire that follows a roughly 55-mile loop through an area of outstanding natural beauty. The course passes notable locations including Ripley Castle, Brimham Rocks, Scar House Reservoir and How Stean Gorge. There are four distance options covering a range of route lengths.
Runners will find multiple staffed checkpoints along the route that provide water, coke, energy bars, crisps and separate boxes for vegan and gluten free options. All ultramarathon entrants are supplied with a tracker that must be worn; the tracker shows live positions and includes an emergency button that, when used, ends the runner’s race. Support crews are permitted but must avoid official checkpoints.
The event sets minimum safety requirements and carries out random kit checks on course; competitors are expected to carry a basic kit that includes a waterproof jacket, survival/bivvy bag, whistle, head torch, hat and gloves, a personal first aid kit, sufficient fluids, a cup for drinks and a hard copy of the map or route description. A mobile phone with the race emergency contacts stored is also required.
