6. proWissen-Lauf
The 6th proWissen-Lauf will take place in Potsdam on Sunday, September 20, 2026. This event is a running race with a supporting program for the whole family, held in cooperation with numerous partners at Volkspark Potsdam. Participants can give their best over a manageable distance in the north of Potsdam.
A goal of the event is to actively connect selected scientific institutions and clubs of the state capital Potsdam with the general public through sports. To present the concept of health, sport, and science to visitors, there will be a program for families, children, and all interested parties alongside the running event.
The start and finish lines are located behind the Biosphäre Potsdam in the Volkspark. Participating clubs and organizations will present themselves at stands and invite visitors to join in activities. Thus, curious individuals of all ages can not only participate in the run but also be active and satisfy their thirst for knowledge.
Race Course:
A large loop through Volkspark Potsdam, passing fruit trees, flower meadows, and the Biosphäre's tropical house. The 10 km course involves running the loop twice. The surface includes asphalt, walking paths, and field paths.
Competitions:
- 5 km Lauf
- 10 km Lauf
- Bambini-Lauf (approx. 800m)
Start Times:
- 11:15 AM: 5 km Lauf
- 11:15 AM: 10 km Lauf
- 10:30 AM: Bambini-Lauf
Awards:
All participants will receive a personalized certificate with their running time and placement, as well as a medal. For team rankings, the times of the four fastest runners from each organization will be aggregated. There will be non-cash prizes for the overall winners and the best teams.
Deutsches Sportabzeichen (German Sports Badge):
As part of the proWissen-Lauf, you have the opportunity to prove your athletic abilities. Participation is possible for all age groups from 6 years old (born 2020 or earlier). The acquisition of the German Sports Badge on this day (including a certificate and badge upon successful completion) is free of charge. The swimming proficiency proof must be brought along. Please check the box during registration.
