Phoenix Striders Summer Series Round 3
Round 3 of the Phoenix Striders Summer Series takes place at the Essex Wildlife Trust Langdon Discovery Nature Park on 16 June 2026. This event is the third of five rounds in the series and offers entries on the day at the same price as online, including fees.
The event is a 5k trail run for participants aged 12 years and older. The course comprises two laps of a 2.5k circuit and both the start and finish are at the Discovery Centre. Race numbers are collected on the day from the Discovery Centre.
Entry fees listed by the organiser are: adults £2.50 (affiliated/club affiliated) and £4.50 (unaffiliated); under 18s £1.50 (affiliated/club affiliated) and £2.50 (unaffiliated). Confirmation of entry and details about parking and transport will be sent by email if an address is supplied on the entry form. Results will be posted on the series website.
There are no changing facilities at the Discovery Centre, but toilets are available. The Centre also offers Essex Wildlife Trust gifts, hot and cold drinks, snacks and ice creams.
The course runs on country park trails where participants may encounter other park users, dogs, horses, wildlife and typical trail hazards such as overhanging branches, roots, cobbles, stones, slippery mud, brambles and nettles. Marshals, a tailwalker and two first aiders with kits and AEDs will be present. The event is held under a Trail Runners Association permit (no. 7230) and under England Athletics rules. A few rules apply, for example no pushchairs, no dogs and no headphones except low volume bone conduction devices; results are timed manually and the Run Director's decision is final.
