Welcome to The Ormsary 10K
The Ormsary 10K is an event organised by Ormsary Social Club on the beautiful Ormsary Estate, offering participants the option to either run or walk the route.
This 10K race is multi-terrain, featuring tar, dirt tracks, muddy and rough ground, and a few hills. There are a total of 100 spaces available (80 for running and 20 for walking).
Timings and Registration:
- Walkers start time: 11:00
- Runners start time: 12:00
- Race registration and briefing will be at Ormsary Hall (PA31 8PE), Ormsary, by Lochgilphead, Argyll.
- Registration: 10:30 - 11:30
- Briefing: 11:40
- Start: 12:00
The Course:
The race starts and finishes at Ormsary Hall. The first 2 miles are on a public single-track tarmac road (B8024) where you may encounter traffic, so please be mindful (no headphones allowed). You will then turn onto a muddy/dirt track with a fairly steep section (approx. 500 yards). The track levels out for about 2.5 miles before you return to tar for a winding downhill section. The final half mile is back on the B8024 towards Ormsary Hall.
Approximately 40% of the route is on road.
Support and Facilities:
- The course will be marshalled and signposted.
- One water stop will be provided around the halfway mark.
- First aid support will be available.
- Car parking and toilets are available at Ormsary Hall.
Prizes and Entry Fee:
- Prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third placed male and female finishers, and the first local finisher.
- Entry Fee: £27. There are no refunds, and race numbers cannot be transferred.
- After the race, enjoy hot soup and home baking (for a donation).
- Medals and refreshments are provided for all participants.
Safety Information:
Participants are required not to wear headphones to ensure they can hear traffic and marshal instructions. Non-compliance may result in disqualification. Roads on the route remain open to traffic, and vehicles have the right of way. Runners are responsible for crossing roads safely. Please obey instructions from race marshals.
Prize giving is planned for 2:00 PM. Results will be published after the event without chip timing.
