MTC Nuckelavee
The MTC Nuckelavee is a new ultra event for 2028, serving as Day 3 of the nine-day MTC SCOTIA end-to-end challenge. This single-day race covers a distance of 40.1 miles, linking Travelodge Edinburgh Airport to Travelodge Perth A9.
The course includes pre-planned checkpoints at Rosyth, Kelty, Milnathort, and Perth, with a series of preset cut-off points based on a minimum average speed of 4 mph. Competitors falling below this speed may be withdrawn.
Maps and GPX files will be provided to entrants via email approximately four weeks before the event. Organizers will supply individual tracking devices with SOS capability to monitor progress.
Competitor numbers are limited to 20 regular entries, with an additional allowance of 20 SCOTIA competitors, making a maximum of 40 starters. All finishers will receive a bespoke Nuckelavee medal, and male and female champions will receive trophies.
The event is cup-free, so competitors should bring a reusable cup. Mandatory kit includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, provided route maps, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid, and emergency food.
Entry fees are non-refundable. Standard entry and a Plus Race Package (including race shirt and hi-viz jacket) are offered. Please visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
