Meet the Minotaur SkyRace
Meet the Minotaur is a mountain running event held in Crowsnest Pass, Alberta, and at Castle Mountain Resort. The competition serves as the host for the 2026 Canadian National Skyrunning Championships and the 2026 Youth Skyrunning North & Central American Championships. The courses are officially certified under the International Skyrunning Federation.
The event features several distinct race formats focused on significant elevation gain:
- Minotaur VK: A Vertical Kilometer course covering 4 km with 970 m of elevation gain.
- Minotaur SkyRace: A 33.5 km course with a total elevation gain of 2,900 m.
- Mini-Taur 10 km: A 10.5 km race featuring 950 m of elevation gain.
- Minotaur Trifecta: A combined category involving multiple races from the schedule.
The races take place in the rugged terrain of Crowsnest Pass, providing technical mountain running conditions.
