Manitoba Marathon in Winnipeg
The Manitoba Marathon is a weekend of road races centered at the University of Manitoba, with start and finish areas located at Princess Auto Stadium. A two day Fit Expo is part of race weekend and all race kits must be picked up there; race day pickup is available only for participants who purchased that add-on.
Event distances include:
- Full Marathon 42.2 km
- Half Marathon 21.1 km
- Marathon Relay
- 10 km
- 5 km Super Run
- Mini & Mighty Mites
The event is an official Boston Marathon qualifier and attracts nearly 15,000 participants on the Father's Day weekend. Finishers enter Princess Auto Stadium at field level where recovery, medical, and spectator areas are provided, and a Family Meet Me area is designated in the stadium seating.
Key race procedures: timing is conducted with chip bibs, runners are seeded into start corrals, and courses are closed to traffic. Bicycles, roller skates and pets are prohibited on the courses. Baby strollers and joggers are not permitted on the Full, Half and 10 km events but may participate in the 5 km Super Run. A course closing vehicle marks the end of the course and participants passed by that vehicle will be required to exit and will not receive an official time.
The race partners with United Way Winnipeg for fundraising. Registration for the 2026 event opens December 1. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
