About the race
The Lindwurm - Im Auge des Drachen will take place in Lindlar from Saturday 6 March 2027 to Sunday 7 March 2027. You can run between 20 and 115 kilometers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Race Details
The Lindwurm is an event for runners and hikers! The nights around Lindlar are dark and cold. Only slowly do the days get longer and the sun tentatively awakens the first delicate buds and shoots of nature. Slowly the dragon awakens and leaves the first tracks in the thawing landscape around its nest… Can you follow the tracks? Are you ready for the dragon's eye? Or will you become dragon food along the way?
It is necessary to run 4 or 2 different laps. For the Lindwurm Plus, you must follow all 4 dragon trails in the prescribed order:
- 1. Drache Tabaluga – 20 km – 400 HM
- 2. Drache Fafnir – 38 km – 1,000 HM
- 3. Drache Grizu – 24.5 km – 550 HM
- 4. Drache Fuchur – 32 km – 800 HM
For the Lindwurm Classic, it's just dragons 2 and 4 with a total of 70km – 1,900 HM. For the Lindwurm Midi, it's dragons 1 and 3 with a total of 45km and 1,000 HM, and for the Lindwurm Mini, only dragon trail 3 with 24.5 km and 550 HM.
Each round is different. Each round has its individual course. Start and finish are the same for all rounds. There is a central aid station where you can refuel (and stock up on provisions) after each round. The route is very varied and leads over scenic heights and deep valleys through and over the wonderful Bergisches Land. Remote paths, forest and woodland trails alternate in a constant up and down.
