Legdener Mittsommernachtslauf
The Legdener Mittsommernachtslauf, celebrating its 43rd year, is a popular running event held in Legden. The race is known for its unique charm, passing through the town center with enthusiastic local support. Unlike many races, only the top three male and female finishers have their times recorded, encouraging a large number of recreational runners to participate and enjoy the atmosphere without the pressure of precise timing.
The event offers a variety of distances to suit all levels:
- 5 km and 10 km courses for adults and youth, winding through the town center.
- 5 km course for walkers and Nordic walkers.
- Kids' runs: This year, the Bambinilauf has been divided into two age groups: one for younger children (born 2022 and earlier) and a new 'Kids-Lauf' for older children (born 2020 and 2021). Both kids' runs are 400 meters long.
- Wheelchair participants are welcome to join the 5 km walking start, emphasizing the event's commitment to inclusivity.
Please note that due to the closure of Wibbeltstraße, the routes for the 5 km and 10 km races have been slightly adjusted. The course now leads from Windmühlenweg, via Osterwicker Straße and Melroseweg, to the original Friedrich-Castelle-Straße.
