Le Trail de Wendake
The Trail de Wendake is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Complexe Desjardins de Wendake. This trail event centers on reconciliation and offers a unique experience combining sport with Indigenous culture.
Courses
Available distances include:
- 1 km - Family outdoor course (walk or run)
- 2 km - Trail running initiation
- 5 km - Outdoor course with limited technical difficulty
- 10 km - Primarily trail running course
- 21 km - Long distance trail course
All routes provide water points, and aid stations are available on the 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km courses. Amenities include a participation gift, a snack, a craft and souvenir shop, changing rooms, and toilets. Medals are awarded by sex and age category for each distance except 1 km and 2 km, which receive participation medals. No overall podium or cash prizes are offered.
Onhwa Lumina Experience
Certain trail segments incorporate the Onhwa Lumina route, a multimedia night walk that uses light and sound to present the history of the Huron-Wendat people. Participants receive a discount for this experience.
Cultural and Family Areas
The event site features several areas for participants and visitors:
- Food area: Partner tent, Sagamité food truck, and Be Healthy - Love Berry sales point.
- Artisan area: Featuring Indigenous businesses and makers.
- Family area: Includes a cross-training course by X Training Wendake, traditional dance, and singing performances.
