Kootenay Fun 5
Kootenay Fun 5 is Cranbrook’s favourite way to welcome spring—an annual 5 km fun run that brings together families, friends, and neighbours for a morning filled with movement, laughter, and community spirit. Now celebrating our 11th year, the KF5 continues to support Kootenay Christian Academy, with every registration helping provide enhanced educational tools and experiences for our students.
Whether you’re lacing up for your very first 5K or chasing a personal best, the original Fun Run is designed for every age; kids, parents, grandparents, and everyone in between. And for those looking to push a little further, why not check out the new “Last One Standing” Backyard Ultramarathon, a test of grit, heart, and perseverance that invites runners to discover what they’re truly capable of.
So gather your people, choose your race, and join us for a day that celebrates community, resilience, and the joy of moving together. The Kootenay Fun 5 is more than a run, it’s a tradition, and we can’t wait to share it with you!
Course Information
The race starts at 10 am at the end of the school field of Kootenay Christian Academy, 1100 Kootenay St. N. The course keeps left and travels behind the school and church building, exiting onto Kootenay Street N. The race then follows Kootenay St. N. toward Park Royal, continuing along 30th Ave. N., through the 4-way stop intersection of 30th Ave. N. and Panorama Rd. all the way to Stahl Road, where we keep right, in front of Sandor Rental. Continuing down Stahl Rd to the Isador Canyon parking lot, we take a quick loop around the city yard, then back up Stahl Road and 30th Ave. N. Halfway up 30th Ave. N., we take a right onto Kokanee Drive N. at the Panorama Rd. intersection, then immediately left onto Kokanee Crescent. This joins Rotary Way behind the ball quads, and finally meets up at the intersection of Kootenay Street N. and Willowbrook Dr. We cross at the intersection of Kootenay St. N. and Willowbrook Dr. and then end up back into the church/school property, behind the church again, out to the school field, leading us right back to our start/finish line. All participants are expected to be finished the course by 11:30am.

- How do I know if I am registered? Confirmation of your race entry will automatically be emailed to you from Eventbrite. You can also log into your account on eventbrite.com to check your registration status or change any information.
- Can I transfer my registration? Refunds are not available. However, you can choose to transfer your registration to another person. Please log-in to your Eventbrite account prior to race day to change the name and data under your registration. This is VERY important! Participating under someone else's name without changing the information to the new participant is strictly prohibited. Unless race bibs have the correct information, it will alter all race results.
- Can I change my t-shirt size after registration? Unfortunately we cannot change shirt sizes at package pick-up as we order exact quantities according to order forms. When selecting sizes, we recommend sizing up for growing kids and teens! And remember or register early as t-shirts and bags are only available to the first 500 registrants.
