KMC Sage City Classic
The KMC Sage City Classic is a cycling road race held in Monticello, Illinois, featuring a scenic course through Piatt County. The event is designed to accommodate both competitive and recreational riders, offering smooth pavement, open terrain, and an enjoyable road racing experience in central Illinois.
This race will be held on Saturday, August 22 with two distance options.
Courses and Distances:
- 100K Bike Ride: Distance: 100K. Recommended for riders able to maintain a minimum average speed of 15 mph.
- 50K Bike Ride: Distance: 50K. Ideal for riders newer to road racing or those looking for a shorter, less intense event.
Both races will originate and conclude at Pepsin Hill (empty lot west of Kelly's Accounting Service). Follow signage.
Awards and Recognition:
- Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers in both races.
- Additional 1st place age group awards in the 100K. 1st place 100K Age Group award categories: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
Registration and Perks:
Participants who register by July 17 will receive a free Sage City Classic race shirt with their entry.
