Kirkstall Abbey 7 2026
Kirkstall Abbey 7 is a seven mile, multi terrain race held on Sunday 20 September 2026 at Kirkstall Abbey, Leeds. The course is a single lap and is described as undulating, using a mix of riverside paths, the canal towpath, roads and the grounds of the abbey. The route starts and finishes within the abbey grounds and is not suitable for wheelchairs. Headphones are not permitted.
The course was changed to its current form in 2017. Course records since that change are recorded as 37:56 for the men’s course (2018) and 43:31 for the women’s course (2023).
Entries are limited to 300 places. Affiliated runners aged 17 and over have an entry fee of £15.00 and unaffiliated runners aged 17 and over have an entry fee of £17.00. Entry on the day is not available. There are no refunds or deferrals, and if the race is cancelled entrants will be offered free entry to the following year.
Facilities at race headquarters include water stations, distance markers, toilets and baggage storage. There are no changing facilities and no showers. Race headquarters is a gazebo opposite the Abbey Visitor Centre, Abbey Road, Kirkstall LS5 3EH. Prizes and trophies are awarded for overall places, multiple age categories from V40 to V70, a trophy for the first local runner and for men's and women's club teams.
