Kelpies Half Marathon 2026
The Kelpies Half Marathon takes place on 26th September 2026 at the Kelpies in Falkirk. The course is a measured half marathon of 13.1 miles with approximately 154 ft of total ascent and descent.
The route passes the Kelpies sculptures and follows a mix of roads, paths and canal towpaths. Runners head under a bridge toward the A905, continue through the Skinflats area and use back roads toward the Clackmannanshire Bridge. The course offers river and bridge views including sights of the Forth and the Kincardine Bridge. A short hill of about 30 m appears near the village of Kincardine. The finish is on a canal path in front of the Kelpies and concludes inside an athletes village area.
Safety and logistics notes: the course is signposted and marshalled, with first aid available at the start and finish areas. Two water stations are provided along the route and participants are asked to bring refillable bottles. Chip timing and live tracking are provided. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers and to age category winners. There is ample parking near the start and finish area.
Entry terms mention a cut off time of 2 hours 30 minutes. Refunds are available on a sliding scale up to 14 days before the event and transfers can be made up to 30 days prior. In extreme weather the event may be rescheduled and entries transferred to the new date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

- Registration: Thursday 25th Sept 5pm till 8pm @ ForthValley College, Grangemouth Road, Falkirk, FK29AD. Friday 26th Sept 4pm till 6pm In the gazebos on the grass approaching the Kelpies. Saturday 27th Sept 07.15 to 08.15 am – In the gazebos on the grass approaching the Kelpies.
- Race Start: 8.45 am, with a warm-up session at 8.40 am.
- Prize Giving: 11.15 am.
- Cut-off Time: 2 hours 30 minutes.
