Hardmoors 26.2 White Horse Trail Marathon
Hardmoors 26.2 White Horse is a trail running event at Sutton Bank Visitor Centre, near Thirsk in North Yorkshire, taking place on Sunday 9 May 2027. Entry is limited to 250 participants. The event offers multiple distances and published ascent and time limits for each distance.
Distances and Cut-offs:
- Marathon - 29 miles, ascent 3400 feet, cut-off 9 hours
- Half Marathon - 16.5 miles, ascent 1900 feet, cut-off 6 hours
- 10k - 7 miles, ascent 1600 feet, cut-off 4 hours
Entry fees include a small donation to the Cleveland Way National Trail. Prices are listed separately for attached and unattached runners, and a race t-shirt is available for an additional fee. Entries open for voucher holders on 31 May 2026 and for general entries on 7 June 2026. Entries close on 16 April 2027.
Mandatory kit requirements differ by distance. Marathon and Half Marathon competitors must carry items such as a waterproof jacket, hat and gloves, printed route description and map, capacity for 500ml fluid, a survival bag, foil blanket, and means to attach a race number. 10k runners have a reduced mandatory kit list. Failure to carry mandatory kit may lead to disqualification.
Courses are not fully marked. Competitors must download and print route descriptions, maps, and GPX files and navigate themselves. The event is cupless, and no dogs, refunds, or deferrals are permitted under standard terms.
