Gumpathon 2026: Fun Run & Forrest Gump Film Screening
Join us on Sunday, July 26th for a one-of-a-kind running-meets-the-big-screen celebration of the iconic 1994 film Forrest Gump! This event combines a movie screening with a fun run, taking place at and between Studio 35 Cinema & Drafthouse and The Grandview Theater & Drafthouse.
Event Schedule:
- 8:00am-9:00am: Registration (Get your bib, find your seat)
- 9:00am-9:30am: Forrest Gump Pt. I Screening
- 9:30am-11:30am: RUN JOURNEY - Run to the other theater location. Lt. Dan Double runners will run from Studio 35 to Grandview and BACK to Studio 35.
- 11:30am-2:00pm: Forrest Gump Pt. II Screening
Course Details:
Choose from two distance options:
- Run Forrest Run 10k: Start at one theater, run approximately 6.5 miles (10k) to the other theater.
- Lt. Dan Double 20k: Start at Studio 35, run 10k to Grandview Theater to pick up a mystery totem, and run BACK to Studio 35 (total 20k).
This is a fun run, not a chipped/timed race. Costumes are highly encouraged!

Important Information:
- Transportation: No shuttles or organized transportation will be provided between theaters. Plan for pickup or rideshare.
- Gear Drop: Yes, put your belongings in one small labeled bag for transport to your end location.
- Water Stations: Water and Gatorade will be supplied at three locations along the 6.5-mile course. Chocolate and shrimp will be available at the midway point.
- Weather Policy: The event runs rain or shine. Delays or cancellations due to lightning will be communicated via official channels.
