Grande Prairie Triathlon
Now in its second year under this name and building on the former Eastlink Centre Triathlon, the event is presented as open to athletes aged 3 to 99+ and includes both kids and adult race categories.
The annual triathlon takes place on July 12, 2026 and consists of swimming, biking and running. The event is sanctioned by Triathlon Alberta; all athletes must hold a valid Triathlon Alberta membership to participate.

The triathlon route begins with swimming in the Olympic pool at the Eastlink Centre, swimming in 25m lengths, participants will then ride their bikes from Knowledge Way down 68 Avenue and loop around at Poplar Drive to make their way back to the Eastlink Centre. Racers will then run through the trail system and finish on the north end of Knowledge Way. For the safety of participants and commuters, 68 Avenue will be closed from Poplar Drive to Knowledge Way during the triathlon.
For the 5 & Under category, a parent may enter the 25 m pool to support their child at no charge. Lifeguards will be in the pool for other Kids of Steel categories.
