Grafham Water Trail Races
The Grafham Water Trail Races take place on Sunday, 11th October 2026, utilizing trails and tracks around Grafham Water. The Race HQ, start, and finish are located at Marlow Park, Grafham, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. The routes incorporate local trails and sections of the Three Shires Way bridleway, offering scenic views of the reservoir and surrounding countryside.
Both races are fully marked and marshalled. The event features the following distances:
- 10k
- Half Marathon
Entries are priced at £25 for the 10k and £30 for the half marathon. Minimum ages on race day are 16 for the 10k and 17 for the half marathon. The race cut-off time is four hours for both races. Dogs are not permitted on the course.
On-course support includes professional first aid at the start and finish, with access to runners on the course. Race Harborough volunteers will manage water stations: three on the half marathon route and one on the 10k route, with additional water available at the finish. GPX files are available for both routes. In-ear headphones are not allowed; bone conduction devices are permitted.
Mandatory kit includes a fully charged mobile phone and a personal cup, as the races are cupless. Trail shoes or shoes with grip are advisable. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each race, and all finishers receive a race medal. Merchandise can be pre-ordered up to three weeks before the event, and free digital race photos will be available post-event. The event supports Jubilee Foodbank Market Harborough and Weston Favell Centre Foodbank Northampton, with an option for entrants to donate.

Starting and finishing at Marlow Park, Grafham Water, the 10k race is an ideal introduction to trail running, while the half marathon offers a significant challenge for those seeking to extend their distance or trail running experience. The routes showcase the best of the Cambridgeshire countryside and provide fantastic views.
Entries
Entries are priced at £25 for the 10k and £30 for the half marathon. Minimum age for entry on race day is 16 years old for the 10k and 17 years old for the half marathon. The race cut-off time is 4 hours for both races. Running with dogs is not permitted as the races use footpaths across farmland. Entries, and transfer of entries, will close 7 days before the event.
Start time/location
Race HQ, the start and finish, will be at Marlow Park, Grafham, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. PE28 0BH. Registration will be open from 07:00 for participants to collect their race numbers and pre-ordered race t-shirts. The half marathon will start at 09:00, and the 10k will start at 09:15.
Parking
Parking is available at Marlow Park, with fees applying. Car sharing is encouraged.
The Route
Both routes will be fully marked with arrow signs. You can view the routes and download the GPX files. Both routes leave Marlow Park, heading West towards Easton, picking up trails and sections of the Three Shires Way long-distance bridleway. The 10k loops back onto the outward bound track, while the half marathon route completes a large lap of the reservoir. No in-ear headphones are allowed; headphones that conduct sound through bones are permitted.
On-course support
Professional first aid will be available at the start and finish, with access to runners on the course. Race Harborough volunteers will provide hydration at 3 water stations on the half marathon route and 1 water station on the 10k route. Water will also be available at the finish.
Kit
Trail shoes are advisable. Mandatory items include a fully charged mobile phone and a personal cup. Optional items may include a waterproof jacket, long-sleeved base layer, hat, and gloves depending on weather conditions.
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers in both races. All finishers will receive a specially commissioned race medal.
Supporters
The best places for supporters are alongside the tracks at Grafham Water. Support in local villages is discouraged due to limited parking.
