Gebirgsmarathon Immenstadt
Join us for the 37th Gebirgsmarathon on Saturday, August 22, 2026, in Immenstadt im Allgäu. This is one of the most demanding and oldest mountain races in Germany, located in the Nagelfluhkette Nature Park!

When: Saturday, 22.08.2026, starting from 08:00 Uhr
Where: 87509 Immenstadt im Allgäu. Start: Mittagbahn Talstation. Finish: Alpe Oberberg.
Experience one of the most scenic and technically demanding trail running events in the Allgäu region as you traverse the Nagelfluhkette.
Courses
- Gebirgsmarathon: 31 km, 3050 hm
- Gebirgstrail: 15 km, 1500 hm
Note: Course modifications may occur due to adverse weather conditions.
Important Information
- Start Number Pickup: From 06:45 Uhr at Mittagbahn Talstation.
- Parking: Designated parking areas at Mittagbahn Talstation.
- Aid Stations: 4 + Finish for Gebirgsmarathon; 1 + Finish for Gebirgstrail. Please bring your own reusable cup or soft flask as no cups will be provided.
- Time Limit: Runners not reaching the Stuiben Sattel turn-off for the long course within 2:15 hours will be directed to the short course.
- Bag Transport: Available to the finish at Alpe Oberberg. Drop off by 09:30 Uhr at the start number pickup area.
- Required Equipment: Minimum 1.5L water (1L for Gebirgstrail), drinking cup/bottle, gels/bars, charged mobile phone, emergency blanket, wind jacket. Additional gear may be required in bad weather.
- Awards: For overall and age group winners at Alpe Oberberg.
- Departure: Participants can use the Mittagbahn cable car for free with their start number. Family and friends must purchase a ticket.
