Event Overview

The Falmouth Triathlon takes place at Gyllyngvase Beach in Falmouth, Cornwall. The event is part of the Cornish Tri Series and offers two distances: a "Little Seal" Super Sprint and a "Big Seal" Sprint.

Little Seal (Super Sprint): 400m swim, 9.7k bike, 2.4k run
Big Seal (Sprint): 750m swim, 18k bike, 4.8k run

Course Details

The swim takes place in the calm waters off the Blue Flag-rated Gyllyngvase Beach. The bike and run routes are coastal, offering views around Pendennis Point, where seals are sometimes seen offshore. The bike course includes a closed-road section along Cliff Road. The swim features an Australian exit after the first loop.

Series & Awards

The event awards points for the Cornish Tri Series. Competitors can aim for overall series awards in their age group. All finishers receive a medal. Wetsuits (shortie or full body) are mandatory for the swim.

Once out of the water, hop on your bike and soak up the electric atmosphere with spectators lining the closed road section along Cliff Rd. Watch out for seals off-shore on the stunning coastal bike and run routes around Pendennis Point! Feel the buzz: An Australian exit after loop 1 of the swim will add to the excitement and give your supporters a chance to cheer you on. Why not bring the family and make a day of it with our JUNIOR EVENTS in the afternoon, the perfect finale to your Cornish Tri season. CORNISH TRI SERIES

Are you up for a challenge? Join likeminded multi-sport enthusiasts and compete for the overall series awards in your age group. BEST OF 4 + VOLUNTEER The 2025 Cornish Tri Series consists of 7 scoring events. Age group winners (male & female) will be awarded 100 points for each of the scoring events - Points decrease by position, see RANKING SYSTEM. The final standings will be obtained by adding the points gained in your 3 best results from the scoring events. To qualify for the Overall Series Awards, athletes need to complete a minimum number of 4 events
