Essener Seelauf
The Essener Seelauf will take place in Essen on Saturday 3 October 2026. The distance is 14.2 kilometers.
Race Details
Organizer: Team-Essen 99 e.V.
Start and Finish: Regattahaus am Baldeneysee, Freiherr von Stein Str.
Schedule: 14.2 km start at 10:00 AM. Late registrations are possible up to 1 hour before the start, subject to availability. Late registration fee is €3, payable in cash only. Follow the homepage for updates.
Entry Fee: €17,-
Registration: Changes only possible until 30.09.26 via email to [email protected] . Online registration for late entries is open until 27.09.26. Confirmation of registration and payment via raceresult. Start documents will be issued at the competition office/Regattahaus from 8:00 AM on 03.10.26 upon presentation of the start number.
Cancellation Policy: No refund if a registered participant does not start, cancels beforehand, or is disqualified. The organizer reserves the right to interrupt or cancel the event due to unforeseen circumstances. In case of cancellation due to force majeure or safety reasons, the organizer is not liable for damages (e.g., refund of start fee).
Disqualification: Participants removed from the race by medical staff will be excluded. This event is organized according to the guidelines of the German Athletics Association (DLV). Violations may lead to disqualification, including but not limited to: starting with multiple bibs or transferring them, altering the bib, not wearing the bib visibly on the chest, using technical aids (e.g., smartphones with headphones), carrying baby joggers or animals, leaving or shortening the official course, or littering.
Course and Aid Stations
The course is not DLV measured. Every kilometer is marked, and the course is clearly signposted. On the 14.2 km course, there are two aid stations around KM 5 and KM 9.5.
Route: Start in front of the Regattahaus. On the cycle path towards Heisingen. At the height of Zeche Langendreer, through the bird sanctuary via Lantermannsfähre, over the railway bridge down through the bird sanctuary on the cycle path back to the finish.
Timing
Timing is done manually via barcode on the start number. The start number must be worn visibly on the chest.
Travel
By Train: From Essen Hbf to Villa Hügel Bhf.
By Car: Follow signs for Baldeneysee Regattaturm.
Parking
Sufficient parking is available at the Regattaturm.
Changing Rooms and Showers
Available from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Regattahaus.
Luggage Storage
The organizer does not offer storage for luggage or valuables.
Award Ceremonies and Prizes
Age group classification follows the German Athletics Regulations (DLO). Awards for the top 3 overall finishers and in age groups. All participants can receive their certificate on-site.
Photos
Photo recordings will be made during the event within legally permissible limits and made available on our online media. We process photo recordings of the event, on which individual persons may be identifiable, based on a legitimate interest.
