CVRR Backyard Ultra 2026
Don’t let the word ULTRA stop you. This is a fun event for everyone!
General Information
The CVRR Backyard Ultra is run in repeated laps called "yards," each measuring 6.706 km. Each yard must be completed within one hour and new laps begin exactly on the hour. The event continues until only one runner remains; the maximum is 30 yards. If more than one runner reaches 30 yards, a mystery challenge will decide the winner.
The route passes through forests, fields and river trails around the Exhibition Grounds. Surfaces combine the soft Horse Track and River Trails with very limited pavement. The course will be well marked and the first loops will be marshalled to help runners learn the route.
The event takes place on the lower field of the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds. Competitors can set up a personal support station in a shaded area on the grass. Water, electricity and washrooms are available on site. Camping is offered for the nights of July 25 and 26 for a fee.
Registration and Transfers
Race entries are SOLD OUT. Although there is not a formal waitlist, we do allow transfers. These would need to be done privately. There will be a small processing fee from Raceroster in addition to the cost of the entry.
