Central Lancashire Junior and Super Sprint Duathlon
The event is held at UCLAN Sports Arena in Preston and takes place entirely within the university grounds, using the crit track and the new athletics track. All running and cycling are off public roads, so the course is traffic free and contained within the site.
The programme includes a full range of junior age-group categories plus sprint and youth categories. All races are timed, and each entry receives a McA Series medal. Water and sweets are provided for participants.
Race Procedures
Transition areas are allocated for each competitor to store bike, running shoes and nutrition; additional storage is not available and participants are asked to keep extra items in their cars. Riders must wear a helmet to be allowed on course. Mount and dismount lines are marked with flags, and participants must not mount or dismount outside these points. Drafting is prohibited and persistent offenders may receive penalties.
Running is anticlockwise on the athletics track with runners keeping left to allow overtaking; cycling is clockwise on the crit track with riders keeping left. Spectators are welcome around the track perimeter but are not permitted on the cycle track. A café is available on site. Ample parking is provided at the venue and registration requires a confirmation email or QR code. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
