Butterfly Run
The Butterfly Run is an annual memorial walk and run organized by the Butterfly Support Network. The event supports people affected by perinatal loss and infertility, brings community members together to raise awareness, and helps fund local support programs.
The event is scheduled in multiple locations on October 3, 2026, including Okanagan, Nanaimo, Vancouver, Whistler, Kamloops, and Trail. Each location hosts community-focused walking and running activities intended to provide a shared space for remembrance and healing.
The event materials include an acknowledgement of the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, naming Musqueam (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm), Stó:lō, Squamish (Sḵwx̱wú7mesh), and Tsleil-Waututh (Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh) Nations. Organizers also note that participants may be joining from many different places and acknowledge the traditional owners of those lands.
Proceeds support local programs offered by the Butterfly Support Network and contribute to community-based resources for grieving families and individuals dealing with perinatal loss and infertility. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
