Brooklyn Duathlon (USAT Sanctioned)
Welcome to the Brooklyn Duathlon, taking place in the iconic Prospect Park! The event features two scenic loops: a shorter 3.34-mile course for running and a longer loop for biking, both on the park's smooth, tree-lined roads. Rain or shine, the race is on.
Race Details
Date and time: June 27th, Saturday. 7:30 AM start. 10:00 AM cut-off time.
Location: Lincoln Rd entrance in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY 11225.
Duathlon Race Course
Both runs are one full lap around Prospect Park, totaling 3.34 miles (5k). The bike course consists of 4 laps around the park, for a total of 13.4 miles. Transition area is by Lincoln Rd. Maps are available at the bottom of the page.
Running Race Course
One 3.34-mile full loop around the park on the main road.
Registration
Duathlon Registration: Check-in begins 1 hour and ends 20 minutes before the start time. A USA Triathlon racing license is required. Online registration is encouraged. Day-of registration is available with a $10 late fee.

Race Insurance
USA Triathlon Membership includes participant accident insurance coverage up to $25,000 for registered athletes during the event. This coverage is supplemental to an athlete's existing health insurance.
Race Numbers
Duathlon: Jersey number should be placed on the front. Bicycle number goes on the seat post or top tube. Helmet number goes on the front. Timing chips from other races can be kept on your bicycle.
Race Results
Duathlon draft results will be available by 9:30 AM. Online results, including transition breakdowns, will be published within 48 hours.
Awards
Top-3 Men and Women receive medals. All duathlon participants receive finisher medals and a finisher training jersey. Age group awards may be offered based on registration minimums.
Photos
Photos will be published within 48 hours on the Verrazano Team Facebook page.
Bicycle Requirements
Any type of bike with brakes is suitable for the duathlon. Check wind speed if using dish wheels. No rental bikes are available.
Parking
Public parking is limited. Consider taking the Q train to Prospect Park station.
Support
Water and trash bags will be available at the check-in table. Portable restrooms will be located by the transition area.
Sanctioning
This is a USAT sanctioned event. USA Triathlon is the National governing body for triathlon, aquabike, duathlon, and aquathlon in the United States, ensuring proper permits, insurance, and organizational standards.
