Bright Skies Surrey Hills
The Bright Skies Surrey Hills is a daytime trail running event held at Denbies Wine Estate, Bradley Lane, Dorking, RH5 6AA. This event offers a variety of distances for runners of all levels, including separate races for children.
Distances Offered:
- Marathon (Ascent: 1072 meters)
- Half Marathon (Ascent: 460 meters)
- 10K (Ascent: 231 meters)
- 5K (Ascent: 129 meters)
- Canix races (Half Marathon and 10K)
- 1K kids race (ages 3-12)
- 2K kids race (ages 3-12)
The course winds through the beautiful Denbies Estate and the Surrey Hills, featuring undulating, muddy, and rolling hills on estate tracks and trails. This marks the fifth year the event is hosted at Denbies.
Marathon Details: The first half of the marathon is primarily self-navigation with reassurance and wrong way markers. The second half, within Denbies, will be fully marked. GPS devices with the route loaded are permitted. Two checkpoints must be visited on the first half of the marathon course.
Canix Races: Extra water bowls will be available at feed stations for canix participants. Water will also be available at the finish line, with a tap near the hatch at Denbies for afterwards.
Event Timing - Sunday, July 26th, 2026:
- 7:00 AM: Registration for marathon (Denbies event marquee/gazebo)
- 8:00 AM: Start of marathon
- 8:00 PM - 10:30 AM: Registration for all other events
- 9:00 AM: Start of kid’s races
- 9:30 AM: Finish of kid’s races followed by presentation
- 10:00 AM: Start of half marathon and 5K
- 10:45 AM: Start of 10K
- 12:00 PM: Presentation for half marathon, 10K, and marathon
