About the Race
The Bow Valley Ultra (BVU) is Kananaskis’s inaugural 100-mile trail race, beginning and ending in the beautiful town of Canmore, Alberta. This event is purposefully scheduled during the shoulder season to boost local tourism and highlight the stunning fall colors.
Entry Requirements
Participants must be 18 years or older on race day and must have completed a qualifying race.
- Qualifying Race: Finish a minimum 50-mile trail race between January 1, 2024, and August 31, 2025.
- Trail Work Requirement: Complete at least 8 hours of trail work in the same calendar year as the event.

Race Package Pick-Up
Race Package Pick-Up will be at RunUphill in Canmore on Friday, September 26. Race morning package pick up will not be available.
Course Description
The BVU race route is an out-and-back course with an estimated elevation gain between 4,000 and 6,000 meters.
