BMW BERLIN-MARATHON 2026
The BMW BERLIN-MARATHON is one of the largest marathons in the world and a member of the Abbott World Marathon Majors. The event is known for its flat course, which features very few elevation changes and leads participants past various sights in the German capital. The finish line is located behind the Brandenburg Gate.
Participants can choose from several different disciplines and distances:
- 42.195 km Marathon for runners, wheelchair athletes, and handbikers
- 42.195 km Inlineskating (September 26th)
- 5 km GENERALI 5K (covering the last 5 kilometers of the marathon route, September 26th)
- 4.2 km mini-MARATHON for youth
- Bambini-Lauf for children
The marathon course is supported by 15 refreshment stations offering water, fruit, tea, and specialized sports nutrition. Specific water-only stations are located at various intervals. Participants can also submit their own personal nutrition.
The event includes the MARATHON EXPO and supporting programs like training camps and preparation courses.
Registration for the main marathon is often managed through a lottery system, with guaranteed entries available via official tour operators or charity partners.
