Bamford Carnival Fell Race 2026
The Bamford Carnival Fell Race is a classic Peak District fell race, going up, around and down Win Hill. The race sets out from Bamford Recreation Ground, with a fast/flat start, which slows the second you hit the Thornhill Road, whereupon it begins to go uphill. You’re soon on footpaths, trending up towards the summit of Win Hill. Instead of going to the trig, you contour round, before descending in the direction of Hope. At this point, you make a well marshalled switchback back towards Bamford, which has the good fortune of being downhill. As you get closer to the Rec - and the finish - it begins to flatten out once-again. Dig deep, because the end - as well as tea, coffee, pizza and beer - are almost in sight.
The race is well marked, well marshalled, and suitable for novice fell runners and experienced racers.
