Bamburgh Castle Duathlons
We are delighted to announce our return to the iconic Bamburgh Castle for a weekend of multisport action. Our popular Sprint and Standard Duathlons will take place on Saturday, alongside our NEW 10km Trail Run, and with cycle sportives on Sunday.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the Northumberland coastline, the run routes take place on paths and trails around the castle grounds, while the cycle routes head out along open roads through this outstanding coastal landscape.
This event is suitable for all fitness levels, and any type of push bike can be used.

Car Park, Links Road, Bamburgh, NE69 7AX
Event Distances
- Sprint (Short) Duathlon: Run – 5km | Cycle – 20+km | Run – 2.5km
- Standard Duathlon: Run – 10km | Cycle – 40+km | Run – 5km
- 10 km Trail Run
Perfect for novices, with a relay option available to complete with friends.
Please note: This event is held on open roads. The Highway Code must be followed, and a cycling helmet is compulsory.
Transition Area
- Secure transition area for competitors only
- Race Number & Bike Number correspond to your racking spot
- Small bags/boxes permitted inside transition
- Bike number must be attached and helmet visible before entering
- Bib and bike numbers will be checked before exiting transition

- Sprint Duathlon – 8.30am
- Standard Duathlon – 8.30am
Timing
Live Chip Timing will be provided by Timing Up North.
The Finish
All finishers receive:
- Event Medal

Parking
There is on-site parking available for £4. Payment is taken on the day by cash or card. Please have the correct change if you are paying with cash.
We will accommodate as many vehicles as possible however some competitors may need to use public parking nearby in Bamburgh. Please car share, or walk or cycle to the event where possible. Please follow Marshal instructions and park considerately.
