Backyard SWUB & Mini-SWUB
Discover who has the strongest endurance and how far you can go at the Backyard SWUB. This event offers a very social and exciting race experience for all placings. For walkers and slower runners, the Mini-SWUB is organized concurrently as an elimination race.
Event Details
Location: 72250 Freudenstadt-Grüntal, Haldenstraße 10. Train connection: Grüntal-Wittlensweiler station.
Date & Time: Saturday, August 1, 2026. The first Backyard SWUB in the Black Forest and 6th Mini-SWUB starts at 8:00 AM. Arrival the day before the start is possible, with overnight stay included after the race.
Race Rules
Rankings are determined by the kilometers run. All completed ultra distances are recorded in the DUV statistics.
- Starts at 08:00 AM, with another start on the hour every hour on the marked 6.706 m course of the SWUB.
- Completing the lap in less than 60 minutes allows for a break until the next full hour.
- Failure to start on time or taking more than 60 minutes to complete a lap results in disqualification.
- A headlamp is required for night laps.
- Mini-SWUB: 3.8 km must be run each hour.
- Each race ends only when the last runner withdraws.
- All total kilometers achieved will be reported to DUV statistics.
The Course
Each hour, after 2 small laps in Grüntal, 2 large laps with a turning point before Aach must be completed. The total paved route is 6.706 km long and features slightly undulating terrain. A simple email to [email protected] is sufficient for registration. Late registrations are possible on the day of the start shortly before the start.
