Ashtead 10k and 2k fun run
The Ashtead 10k and 2k fun run is an annual event organised by Ashtead Running Group to raise funds for local charities. The event is based at The Scout Hut, Woodfield, Ashtead KT21 2RL and is held on rough tracks around Ashtead Common, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a National Nature Reserve.
The course runs entirely on trails through the common and is described as undulating rather than flat. Earphones are not permitted for the safety of participants and others. Organisers note a past hornet incident and cannot guarantee the course will be hornet free.
Race entry includes processing fees, a free raffle, licences and permits, and medical coverage. The event promotes low environmental impact and is described as Britain’s greenest race; participants are encouraged to use public transport, walk, cycle, or share travel. The train station is reported to be about a one minute walk from the race headquarters.
