Asbury Park George Sheehan Classic 5K
The Shore Athletic Club presents the Asbury Park George Sheehan Classic 5K on Saturday, August 8, 2026. This is a flat, fast USATF certified course finishing on the famous Asbury Park Boardwalk.
Registration Fees:
- $36 if registered by March 9th
- $40 if registered by May 9th
- $46 if registered by July 31st (if space permits)
- $50 if registered August 1 - 8th (if space permits)
- $60 on race day, August 9th (if space permits)
The field will be capped at 1,600 runners. Shirts for the first 1,200 to pick up.
Kids' Races:
- $14 if registered by March 9th
- $16 if registered by July 31st
- $20 from August 1 - 9th
Suggested distances for kids' races vary by age, from 50 meters for 2-4 year olds to 400 meters for 11+ years old.
Schedule of Events:
- Friday: 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM - Late Registration (if available) & Bib/T-Shirt Pick-up at The Outpost in Little Silver.
- Saturday:
- 6:30 AM to 7:45 AM - Late Registration (if available) and race day bib pick-up at Bradley Park.
- 7:50 AM - Opening Ceremony at Bradley Park.
- 8:00 AM - 5K Run begins.
- 9:00 AM - Kids races begin.
- 9:15 AM - Awards ceremony - Bradley Park.
Awards:
- Top 5 Overall Open Male and Female: Cash Prizes.
- Age group awards: 5-year age groups, Top 3 in each win custom Sheehan Classic beach towels and other awards.
- Over $1300 in prize money for top finishers (men and women).
- Team Competition: Awards for Men's Teams, Women's Teams, Masters Men (40+), Masters Women (40+), and Co-Ed Teams.
- Special award for the team with the largest number of entrants.
- Top male and female Asbury Park residents win gift certificates.
- Raffle at the awards ceremony.
Friday Bib Pick Up:
The Outpost Running and Walking Co., 32 Church Street in Little Silver. 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Free shoe raffle and other giveaways.
Race Tees:
Soft cotton tie-dye Asbury Park Sheehan Classic shirts to participants, first 1,200 to pick up their bib/shirt! The first 1,000 people to pick up their bibs on Friday and Saturday will also get a drink ticket for The Robinson Ale House.
Charity Partner:
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Monmouth County.
