Aldi Ashby 20 : event overview
The Aldi Ashby 20 is a not-for-profit 20 mile road race in Ashby de la Zouch, organised by runners and presented by Ivanhoe Runners. The event is powered by volunteers and has been held since 1988. It is used by many participants as part of spring marathon training or as a standalone long-distance challenge. Event certification is to be confirmed for 2027.
Entry management and administration are handled through SI Entries. Entries open on Monday 26 October at 7:00 PM. Withdrawals are permitted with a refund minus a £5 administration fee up to midnight on Sunday 7 February; deferrals and number swaps are not permitted. After 7 February refunds are not available.
Strict cut off times apply at key points on the course to meet the Temporary Traffic Regulation Order and local requirements. The official gun time cut offs are: at 10 miles 2 hours 20 minutes, at 15 miles 3 hours 30 minutes, and the finish allows around 4 hours 45 minutes (approximately a 14 minute per mile pace). These are gun times and not chip times.
The event supports national and local charities, including the Teenage Cancer Trust, Heartwize for Runners, Hospice Hope and Wishes 4 Kids. Headquarters are at Ashby Leisure Centre and Lido in Ashby de la Zouch. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

Withdrawals & Refunds
You can withdraw your entry and receive a refund (minus a £5 admin fee) until midnight on Sunday 7th February.
To do this, log in to your SI Entries account and go to the ‘My Entries’ section to manage your Ashby 20 entry.
Deferrals or number swaps are not permitted.
Please note: After 7th February, refunds will Not be permitted under any circumstances.
Cut-Off Times – Important Notice
To comply with the Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) issued by Leicestershire County Council, and to ensure the safe and lawful management of the event, strict cut-off times will be enforced at key points along the course.
These timings are not optional and are a legal condition of the event’s approval. They are in place to allow for the timely reopening of public highways and to minimise disruption to local residents and emergency services.
Official Cut-Off Points:
- 10 Miles – 2 hours 20 minutes
- 15 Miles – 3 hours 30 minutes
- 20 Miles (Finish) – The above cut-offs allows around 4 hours 45 minutes to complete the course (This equates to an average pace of 14 minutes per mile)
Please note: These are gun times, not chip times. All runners must reach each checkpoint within the specified time from the official race start.
