AJ Bell Great Scottish Run
The AJ Bell Great Scottish Run takes place in Glasgow, starting on St Vincent Street and concluding at Glasgow Green. The event highlights various aspects of the city, including urban architecture, historical sites, and green spaces. Participants can choose between two main distances:
- 10 km (open to runners aged 15 and over)
- Half Marathon (open to runners aged 17 and over)
The 10 km course begins with an uphill section followed by 2.5 km of downhill, with the remainder of the route being flat. The half marathon route features approximately six miles (nearly 10 km) of uphill running in the middle, while the final five miles (8 km) consist of a mixture of flat and downhill sections. Both routes pass several of the city's landmarks and feature music and entertainment zones.
The event provides baggage facilities near the start, categorized by color-coded waves. These facilities relocate to the finish area at Glasgow Green for collection. Participants receive a personalized race number with a timing chip. All finishers are provided with a medal, a bag of goodies, and an optional finisher t-shirt. An app is available for live tracking, results, and access to professional event photos. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
