Abergele 5K & 10K
The event takes place on 18 October 2026 on the Abergele/Pensarn promenade on the North Wales coast. The course is described as flat and intentionally aimed at helping runners chase 5K or 10K personal bests.
Distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- Double: 5K and 10K same day
Race headquarters and enquiries are located next to the start and finish on the promenade (Sat Nav LL22 7PQ). Race numbers and timing chips are collected at race HQ. There is free parking adjacent to the start and finish. Drink stations are provided at approximately every 3 miles and at the finish; runners who need extra water are advised to bring their own bottle. A public toilet block is near the start and extra portaloos will be available; there are no changing facilities.
First aid cover is provided by a professional medical team with stations at the start, finish and on course. Competitors should fill out medical details on the back of their race number. If a runner retires they must return their timing chip to race HQ and notify the nearest marshal so organisers can account for participants.
All finishers receive a technical T-shirt and bespoke medal. Double entrants receive a double medal and a technical T-shirt with a discounted combined entry; the medal ribbon indicates completion of both races. There are no road closures for this event. Results will be posted on runwales.com. Headphones are not permitted except bone-conducting types. Runners must avoid littering or face disqualification for deliberate disposal outside designated areas. Runners are asked to maintain a pace around 12 to 15 minutes per mile; if directed to do so they must move onto pavements and obey all traffic signals.
