9th Annual Solstice Swim

Presented by the Alexandra Headland Rotary Club and Alexandra Headland Surf Lifesaving Club, this event is a healthy and fun community swim focused on camaraderie and good vibes. It's also a great way to stay in shape during winter.
We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land where this event is held, the Kabi Kabi people, and we pay our respects to their Elders, past and present.
Swim Distances:
- 50 metres: A short course to celebrate the solstice, no wetsuits allowed. Includes a commemorative T-shirt.
- 500 metres: Suitable for regular swimmers, younger participants, first-time competitors, or those acclimatizing to ocean swimming.
- 1km and 3km: Popular distances for swimmers who have experience with these lengths in ocean events.
- 5km: A challenging distance for serious athletes.
All swim legs are chaperoned by lifeguards on boards and jet skis. Safety briefings are conducted before each swim. Timing anklets will be supplied for most events (excluding the 50m swim).
Swim Times (TBC):
- 50m "nearly naked swim": 7:00 am start
- 5km: 8:00 am start
- 500m: 8:15 am start
- 3km: 8:35 am start
- 1km: 8:55 am start
Late entry and on-the-day pricing applies after 12 noon on Saturday, 20th June 2026.
Event Information:
- All swimmers receive: Swim cap, fruit and drink on completion, instant swim completion time, and position in age group.
- Proceeds will be donated to Sunshine Coast Not for Profit organisations.
