6th Annual 9/11 Run to Remember 5K - 25th Anniversary Commemoration
Join us for the 6th Annual 9/11 Run to Remember 5K, held in solemn remembrance of the 25th Anniversary of the events and tragedy of September 11th attacks. On Saturday morning, September 12th, 2026, the streets of Downtown Cartersville, GA will once again become a place of reflection, unity, and gratitude.
This year marks 25 years since that fateful morning that forever changed our nation. The “9/11 Run to Remember” 5K stands as a tribute to the herculean courage and selfless sacrifice of the first responders who answered the call without hesitation, as well as to the lives lost and the families forever impacted. Produced in conjunction with the Cartersville Fire Department and the Cartersville Police Department, this meaningful community event brings together runners, walkers, families, and supporters of all ages to honor the bravery that emerged from unimaginable tragedy.
Race Day Schedule of Events:
- 6:45 AM: Race Day Registration Opens
- 7:45 AM: Race Day Registration Closes
- 7:55 AM: Pre-Race Presentation of Colors and in remembrance of 9/11
- 8:00 AM: 5K Start Time
- 9:15 AM: 5K Awards Presentation (located in Friendship Plaza in downtown Cartersville)
Pre-Registration Packet Pick up:
Pre-race packet pick-up will be held from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM Friday, September 11th at the Big Peach Running Co. of Cartersville located at 402 E. Church St., Suite 107, Cartersville, GA 30120.
Awards:
Awards will be given to the Top 3 Overall Male and Female Winners, Top Masters Male and Female Winners, and Top 3 Male & Female in various age categories.
Proceeds from the race go to benefit the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation.
