The 9 to 5k is a 5k event taking place around Market Rasen Racecourse in Market Rasen, UK, on 16 September 2026. The course starts and finishes at the racecourse and is arranged to accommodate workplaces and groups.
The event is organised by Curly's Athletes. The event is chip timed but has no time limits. Finishers receive a medal. Participants can walk, wheel, jog, run, or mix these modes of movement. Points are awarded for participation, intermediate special points on the course, fancy dress, age group and overall placings, volunteer contributions, and spirit of the day. Trophies are presented for age group winners, spot awards, overall winners, and for the top three teams by points.
After the race there is a relaxed social finish where workplaces can gather and talk. Organisers also offer the option to book use of the racecourse for the day, including holding a meeting on site before the main event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
About the event
Starting, finishing and taking place around the rather lovely Market Rasen Racecourse, The 9 to 5k is here to bring our workplace teams together, provide a challenge to aim for and have some fun in the journey to the day and of course on the day itself! We've got a great treat for you at the finish, a fantastic medal, plenty of fun and we even chip time the event for those who like to keep a note! Naturally the event is open to all, but we really encourage workplaces, charities and groups to get involved and represent your team! It’s not about pace, PBs, or who finishes first — it is about showing up and moving in whatever way works for you. A shared experience and challenge that will help to bring teams together. Whether you walk, wheel, jog or run (or a mix of all these things!) we are here to support everyone in this rather special 5k challenge. We are bringing colleagues together across roles, departments, and workplaces, helping people connect, move a little more, and feel part of something collective. Wellbeing is not about a tick box… it's doing real things together and helping shape a culture that embraces getting moving! An active workforce is a resilient, happy and productive one. The event is chip timed but we have no time limits, we are here to support everyone to the finish! And for those with a slightly competitive side, individuals earn points for taking part in the event, special points can be grabbed on the way round, we’ve work fancy dress points on offer, points for overall and age group winners, volunteer points and spirit of the day points. Trophies are then handed out for age group winners, spot awards and overall winners … with then us recognising the top 3 overall points teams! Once the miles are done, the fun carries on with a relaxed, social finish and time to celebrate together and maybe even chat to some of the other workplaces. You could even book into the racecourse for the day and hold a meeting here before the main event!
