Yorkshire Day Run at Roundhay Park
The Yorkshire Day Run takes place at Roundhay Park in Leeds and offers multiple race distances on a park path course. The event includes a dedicated kids race and facilities located near the event hub by the middle bandstand.
Distances available
- 5k one lap around the park
- 10k two laps around the park
- Half marathon just over four laps with an additional 1.1 km loop
- 1.5k kids race
The course runs on park paths and is described as flat. Road running shoes are recommended. Buggies are permitted and the course is wheelchair accessible. The organiser may alter the course if necessary.
Timing and event services are provided on site. All entrants receive chip on bib timing with split times for each lap and an individual finish medal. Sweets and water are offered at the finish area and a small number of trophies are awarded. Race packs are collected at on-site registration on the day of the event. Marshals will be positioned around the course and toilets and limited bag storage are available at the event hub. Parking is available around Roundhay Park but space is limited. Event Day Information
ARRIVAL AND REGISTRATION
Our Yorkshire Day Runs kick off at 9am for the half marathon and 10am for the 5k and 10k runs. The kids race will start at 1130am. Registration will be open from 8.00am and will close at 855am for the half marathon and 9.55am for the 5k and 10k, so please arrive nice and early. The kids can be registered up until 1120am. The event hub is by the lower bandstand. Please view the travel and how to get to the event section.
PLEASE NOTE you will collect your race pack at registration on the day of the event. Race information will be sent by email pre-event and this will tell you what your race number is so you know where to queue on the day of the event. This can then be printed as your confirmation. If for any reason you don’t receive this email please note this information will be available for viewing online pre-event and you can then search for your name and race number.
You will be using our Chip on Bib race numbers and it is important these are displayed on your outer garment to ensure 1) We can see your race number when running and 2) To help with the timing system to read your time.
PARKING
There is carparking in and around the park. Please check on arrival as some may be pay and display and do your best to arrive with plenty of time to spare as parking may fill up quickly.
TOILETS
Situated at the event hub in Roundhay Park.
BAG STORAGE
This is located next to the registration tents. Please note space is limited so travel as lightly as possible.
RUN TIMINGS
The runs will kick off at 9am for the half marathon, 10am for the 5k and 10k and 1130am for the kids and will take you around Roundhay Park. We will have some fun tunes played to get you ready for the challenge that awaits!
There will be marshals around the course to support and encourage you. Please take care when running around the course as this is public land and local residents will be out and about. Please always stay on the left unless otherwise guided.
AFTER THE EVENT
Everyone will receive a medal and there are also a few trophies that are up for grabs! You will be able to check out your instant race results. We look forward to seeing you at our events. By Car
There is parking around Roundhay Park but this is limited so please plan your jour
