Windsor Dorney Lakeside Marathon
The event is staged at Dorney Lake, Off Court Lane, Windsor, Berks (SL4 6QP). The course is traffic-free and described as flat, running inside the lake grounds. The venue provides free car parking next to the start area.
Chip timing is used and finishing times are recorded and posted as runners cross the line. All finishers receive a medal and finish-area provisions including water, juices, fruit and a chocolate bar. There is a free, cordoned baggage drop facility; organisers advise against leaving valuables as they cannot be held responsible.
The event encourages support for Kingston Hospital Charity as part of its celebration of the NHS. A cut-off time of 5 hours 20 minutes applies to the race.
Access notes: there are no direct public transport links to the venue. The nearest train station is Taplow; from there the boathouse via the main entrance is about a 10-minute drive, a 17-minute cycle, or roughly a one-hour walk. All pedestrian access is via the main entrance off Court Lane; pedestrian gates on the Thames Path, the Sustrans path on the north side of the lake, and Boveney Road are closed.

Travelling by Car or Taxi - Dorney Lake is ideally situated just 5 mins from the M4 Junction 7 providing links to the West, the A404, and into London. Please do not park on local roads, including Marsh Lane, Court Lane and Boveney Road.
Travelling by Public Transport - There are no direct transport links. The nearest train station is Taplow Train Station which is (to the Boathouse via our Main Entrance Gates), a 10 min drive, 17 min bike ride or a 1 hour walk. If arriving at Windsor Central or Windsor & Eton Riverside Stations, please be aware that access to our venue is via our Main Entrance off Court Lane only. There is no access via the Thames Path and no parking or access from Boveney Road.
Travelling by Foot or by Bike - When traveling to Dorney Lake on foot or by bicycle, please be aware that the only entry point into the venue is via our Main Entrance Gates located off Court Lane. There is no pedestrian access from the Thames path, along the Sustrans path which runs along the north of the lake, or from Boveney Road. All pedestrian gates are permanently closed.
