Windermere Triathlons & Duathlons 2026
The Windermere Triathlon Weekend Returns on 4th & 5th July 2026
Join us on the shores of Lake Windermere for an unforgettable weekend of racing, set against the stunning backdrop of the Lake District. The event is based at the scenic Cockshott Point, where the Transition Area boasts incredible views over the lake.
Cockshott Point offers a stunning setting for both athletes and spectators, with easy access to local amenities and public car parks nearby.
This Event is a permitted BRITISH TRIATHLON Event and thus anyone who isn't a BT Member will need to purchase a day pass to cover your Insurance on the day.
Event Schedule:
- Saturday 4th July – SPRINT (SHORT) & NOVICE distances
- Sunday 5th July – STANDARD distances
Race Details:
- Swim: Dive into the clear waters of Lake Windermere
- Bike: Ride through Ambleside — with Novice & Sprint routes looping back, while Standard riders circle the entire lake
- Run: Enjoy scenic paths and trails along the shoreline — ideal for both participants and spectators
Whether you're a seasoned triathlete or new to the sport, this event offers something for everyone in one of the UK's most breathtaking locations.

- Novice Triathlon: 350m Swim | 20k Cycle | 2.5k Run
- Sprint (SHORT) Triathlon & Relays: 750m Swim | 20k Cycle | 5k Run
- Sprint (SHORT) Duathlon: 5k Run | 20k Cycle | 2.5k Run
- Sprint (SHORT) Aquabike: 750m Swim | 20k Cycle
- Sprint (SHORT) Aquathlon: 750m Swim | 5km Run
Sunday 5th July 2026 – Standard Distances
- Standard Triathlon & Relays: 1,500m Swim | 48k Cycle | 10k Run
- Standard Duathlon: 10k Run | 48k Cycle | 5k Run
- Standard Aquabike: 1,500m Swim | 48k Cycle
- Standard Aquathlon: 1,500m Swim | 10km
Wetsuit Policy
Water temperatures are expected to be warm enough to make wetsuits optional. However, wetsuits are recommended for comfort and buoyancy, especially for less experienced swimmers.
Transition Area
A secure Transition Area will be in place exclusively for triathletes. Race Number and Bike Number will correspond to your Racking Number. You may bring a small bag or box with personal items. Only competitors will be allowed entry. Race numbers must be shown at the entrance. Your Bike Number must be attached to your bike and helmet must be visible before entering.
