Wild Rose Women's Indoor Triathlon - Airdrie
The Wild Rose Women's Indoor Triathlon takes place at Genesis Place in Airdrie on October 31, 2026. The event is open to athletes aged 10 and up and is run in heats; heats are assigned based on swim pace about one week before the event. Participants are asked to arrive at least 30 minutes before their heat for check-in, body marking and meeting their group leader.
Each heat consists of a swim, a stationary bike session and a track segment, with transitions between disciplines. The event schedule lists 15 minutes for the swim, 15 minutes for the bike, and 15 minutes for the run, with roughly 10-minute transitions from swim to bike and bike to run. Heats start every 15 minutes and an athlete's sequence takes just over one hour to complete.
Swimming is in lanes of up to four swimmers, with two athletes starting at opposite ends and swimming counter-clockwise; passing is by tapping toes and stopping at the end of the lane. Lifeguards and volunteers staff the pool area and spectators may view the swim. The bike segment is led by a spin instructor; volunteers assist with seat set-up and SPD-compatible pedals may be used. On the track a run marshal sets direction and announces the last lap. Post-event items include an official race bib, a commemorative finisher's bracelet, post-race massage and a smoothie. Registration uses tiered fees and includes an automatic 10% age discount for ages 10–18 and 55+. There are no refunds; rollovers and transfers are allowed under the event's stated conditions and fees. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Indoor Triathlon (15m Swim, 15m Bike, 15m Run/walk)
Schedule:
Sunday, October 31st, 2026
Genesis Place (800 East Lake Blvd NE, Airdrie, AB)
- 12:30pm Athlete Check In begins - you must check in a minimum of 30 minutes before your heat
- 1:00pm Wild Rose Women's Indoor Triathlon begins - heats are every 15 minutes and will take athletes just over 1 hour to complete their event.
How it Works:
- HEAT ASSIGNMENT: You will be assigned a heat 1 week prior to the event. You will be notified by email.
- ARRIVAL: (please arrive 30 minutes before your heat starts) When you arrive to the facility, you will proceed to the multipurpose room (only participants will be permitted) and you will check-in and get body marked to identify you throughout the swim, bike and run. You will then meet your group leader and other heat members. Your group leader will stay with you the entire event and be there to ensure you know where you are going, offer helpful tips and advice, and extra cheers!
- SWIM: (15 minutes) This can often be the most nerve racking component in a triathlon. We promise we are here to assist you, make you as comfortable as possible and ensure you are successful! Before the swim your group will head to the change rooms. You will get changed into what you will swim in (or even complete the entire race in), use the washroom if necessary, and bring your things back to the multipurpose room. You will then bring your towel, swim cap goggles (along with what you plan to wear for the bike and run) onto the deck where you will meet your heat leader. Your heat leader and a swim marshal will help organize you into lanes (4 swimmers per lane) with swimmers of similar pace together. With 2 athletes starting at either end
