Widdop Fell Race
This classic high moorland route follows good and interesting paths with a few tussocks and chest high bracken thrown in! The route is marked throughout but can catch the less observant runners out in mist!!! PLEASE TRY AND FOLLOW THE FLAGS.

Race requirements
The race is licensed by the FRA under UKA rules and is therefore a non-GPS race. You are allowed to use a GPS device to record your route and display your distance travelled during the race. However electronic devices cannot be used to aid navigation except in the case of an emergency. If you choose to use any GPS functions to navigate to safety you must declare yourself as a non-competitive participant at the finish.
A decision on kit to be carried will be made on the night depending on the weather. Please bring FRA mandatory minimum kit incase it is required which includes waterproof full body cover (Waterproof full body cover means a pair of waterproof trousers and a waterproof jacket with an integrated hood. Both items must have taped seams) + hat (buff is acceptable) + gloves + map + compass (not out of a Christmas cracker) + whistle.
If you are required to carry kit it must be the correct FRA kit or YOU WON'T BE ALLOWED TO RACE. Kit check prior to race number allocation on the day.

The course distance is approximately 7 miles (11.3 km) with about 366 m (1200 ft) of climb. The event is categorised as BM and takes place in the South/West Pennines.
