The Eliminator Swimrun takes place in Aberdyfi on 21 June 2026. The event is set in Aberdyfi, a small fishing village on the southern edge of Snowdonia National Park and within the UNESCO Dyfi Biosphere.
The format allows for a potential of six laps, with a total distance of 12 km of combined running and swimming. Each lap comprises approximately 1.3 km of running and 700 m of swimming. The approximate lap breakdown is:
- Run 1: 280 m
- Swim 1: 520 m
- Run 2: 910 m
- Swim 2: 180 m
- Run 3: 130 m
Lap times listed for planning purposes are approximately: Lap 1 26 minutes, Lap 2 24 minutes, Lap 3 22 minutes, Lap 4 21 minutes and Lap 5 20 minutes. Lap 6 is indicated as "Full speed ahead". These times may be subject to slight change on the day.
Age categories for the My Swimrun World Championships at this event are Under 40 years and 40 and over. The Aberdyfi race also serves as the Sprint Final of the My Swimrun Championships.
Because the course runs through an estuary, tidal conditions may cause small variations in transition distances. Accommodation and camping options are available in and around Aberdyfi, with some sites a short walk from registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Race Start: 11:30
Note: The tidal nature of the estuary means that the distances may be slightly different depending on when you get to each transition. This is not expected to be a significant difference.
