Step into a fun run and post-race fair for all ages in the heart of Golden Gate Park. The Viking Run is an inclusive community event presented by the Scandinavian School and Cultural Center. Join us with your family and friends!
Run/Walk For Adults/Seniors/Youth
- 5K & 2K races
- For Children 4-7 years: 200 yards
- For Children 2-3 years: 80 yards
Prizes are awarded for the fastest in 5K runners, also 2K youth runners. Everyone gets a medal!

Why run as a Team?
Everyone races individually, but teaming up increases your chances to win!
- 5K Runners: Compete not only for individual glory but also for a special team prize! The winners are determined by the average speed of the team members. Teams can include anything from 3 up to 10 members.
- 2K & kids' dashes: Being part of a fun, supportive group is a reward in itself! There are no size limits—bring as small or large a crew as you'd like. Best team costume will also be awarded!

We bring people together & support culture, community, and connection! At the Viking Run, community comes first. The run is more than a race — it’s a way to connect people through shared movement, culture, and joy. The Scandinavian School & Cultural Center creates cultural and social experiences throughout the year - and your support helps us to achieve more. Whether you’re signing up to run or cheering from afar, your contribution truly makes a difference. If you can’t attend this year, you can still support the cause by purchasing a teacher ticket or making a donation of any size — every gift helps strengthen our programming and community.
