Description
The Uwharrie 100 Mile Trail Run will be held on October 17-18, 2026 in the Uwharrie National Forest. The race is held on a 20.5 mile figure 8 loop consisting of technical trails filled with roots and rocks covered by a lush forest canopy. Runners participating in the 100 mile event will complete the loop five times and 100K runners will complete three loops. The registration limit for this event will be 150 total runners between both the 100 mile and 100K races. 100 mile entrants will be required to have previously completed a 50 mile event within the race's established time limit. As an exception, runners may use Uwharrie 40 mile Mountain Run or Mount Mitchell Challenge as a qualifying race. Questions about qualifying races can be directed to [email protected]. Due to the high technicality of the course, there will be a 36 hour cut off for both races. Runners must register by September 15th to be guaranteed their shirt size. We will do our best to get runners who register after that date the shirt size of their choosing but we will not be able to guarantee it due to us having to place the shirt order by that date in order to have them by race day.
REFUND POLICY
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE REGISTERING
50% refunds will be issued until MAY 1st, 2026 for any registered entrant who requests to withdraw. No full refunds or bib transfers will be offered. ***There are significant up front costs to putting on a race of this size, and many of those expenses occur months in advance of race day. Thank you for understanding.
DEFERMENTS
Deferments will be considered on a case-by-case basis until September 1, 2026. NO DEFERMENTS will be considered after that date. If you have a request to defer PRIOR to the deferment date above, please send an email to [email protected]. If granted a deferment you are allowed a SINGLE deferment; meaning you may roll over your registration one time to the following year. Multiple deferments will not be honored. In the event of an unforeseen life circumstance such as; pregnancy, postpartum, death of a family member, military duty/deployment; 100% credit towards 2027 race will be applied. Each situation will be reviewed individually.
RUNNERS UNDER 18
IF ATHLETE IS UNDER AGE 18 on the date of the Event: The athlete must have parental consent provided on UltraSignup. This certifies that the athlete has permission to participate in the Uwharrie 100 Mile and 100K Trail Run. The parent’s signature certifies they have read the RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY AGREEMENT (on UltraSignup) and by signing intentionally and voluntarily agrees to its terms and conditions. The signature further certifies that their son/daughter is in good physical condition and is able to safely participate in the Uwharrie 100 Mile and 100K Trail Run. They also authorize medical treatment for their son/daughter and grant access to their child’s medical records if necessary. Due to the demanding nature of the Event, NO MINOR UNDER 16 YEARS of age (as of the date of the Event) will be allowed to participate in the 100 mile or 100K events.
TRANSGENDER ATHLETES
Uwharrie 100 will accept any athlete’s declared gender upon registration. Any challenge to an athlete’s declared gender must occur after the event and in writing to [email protected]. The race directors will assess any challenge privately. This is an event that is being conducted on the Uwharrie National Forest and is authorized under a Special Use Permit.
