The Umpfertallauf is a highlight of the Unterschüpfer Weintage, which always take place at the end of August. The Umpfertallauf is organized by the Triathlon department of TSV Unterschüpf. The run offers various routes: the 10 km main run, the 10 km relay run, the 5 km hobby run, as well as pupil and toddler runs. Nordic Walking is also represented on the 5 km course. It is a flat, out-and-back course (1 lap = 5km and approx. 33 meters elevation) which is also ideal for less experienced runners. The event starts on Saturday evening, with start and finish at the market square. The course leads along the cycle path to Schweigern, where the turning point of the 5 km course is located, before returning to the market square. The award ceremony will then take place in the festival tent and will acknowledge the sporting event.
