Ultra Obscura
Ultra Obscura, taking place on June 13 and 14, 2026, at Mont Sutton in Sutton, QC, is a unique multi-loop ultramarathon designed to test not only endurance but also race strategy and resource management. With six individual distance options and an 84 km relay, participants are challenged to plan and make critical decisions throughout the event.
The course is set entirely on technical, uneven trails with no paved sections, offering breathtaking mountain views that demand constant concentration. The organizers emphasize trail sustainability to preserve the beauty of the Sutton trail network, with a strict limit of 200 participants.
The main transition area is located at Mont Sutton, serving as a central hub for solo runners and teams. Solo runners can leave a resupply bag in this area, while relay teams have specific access rules. Checkpoints are strategically placed along the course to provide water and snacks, with clear prohibitions against dropping or picking up gear outside designated areas. Support teams are advised not to join runners at checkpoints.
Categories include female solo, male solo, mixed teams, female teams, and male teams, with inclusive options for nonbinary and transgender athletes. Participants receive a technical t-shirt, a pre-race meal, event photos, a personalized medal, live timing updates, and professional medical support. Visit the official website for the most current information.
