Two Tunnels - August 2026
Two Tunnels is a running event in Bath held on Sunday 16 August 2026 with start and finish at Brickfields Park, Twerton. The route passes through two converted railway tunnels that run beneath the city: Devonshire Tunnel (408 m) and Combe Down Tunnel (1,672 m). The tunnels are well lit, surfaced for shared use, and are accessible to runners, walkers and cyclists.
The tunnels were part of the Somerset and Dorset Railway, closed in 1966 and reopened as a shared path after restoration by the Two Tunnels Group and Sustrans. The event notes that each race distance includes the longest underground section in the UK.
The programme includes a wide range of race distances and formats, from short family colourburst events to ultramarathon and relay options. Tickets for this edition are currently sold out. The event contributes £1 per runner to Sustrans and participants who fundraise for Sustrans receive a free running vest and other items; over £30,000 has been raised to date.

The first tunnel, the Devonshire Tunnel is 408m long and the second tunnel, Combe Down Tunnel is 1672m long. Both tunne
